What to Expect
First and foremost, I want you to be happy! I realize this is an investment and my goal is for you to love the end product. So, I will do everything in my power to achieve this.
Things to consider when scheduling a session:
Time of day: I prefer to schedule sessions about an hour before sunset, so this time will vary depending on the time of the year. However, I am totally flexible and will work with you to determine the perfect location and time, depending on what look you are going for.
What to wear: My biggest suggestion is COLOR. Don't feel like your family needs to be matchy matchy. The more color, the more accessories, the better. This is what is going to give your photos personality and what makes them POP. That being said, be you! If you are comfortable and having fun with the experience, it will show in your photos.
Location: I will travel within 20 miles, with no additional fee. If you're undecided where you would like to have your photographs taken, we can figure this out together. No worries. But again, think about what kind of look you want and what suits your family. Do you want a more rustic look? Perhaps a cool field, or a barn. Wanting something more traditional? Perhaps some nice greenery or columns. Basically, we can work together to find the best location.
Your expectations: We all browse Pinterest or see someone else's family photos that we love. Do you have an idea or something very specific in mind? Please give me your ideas. In fact, that's your homework! My only goal is for you to be thrilled with your photos and I love to hear your thoughts or see photos that have inspired you. Let's work together on this!
When the session seems like it's going all wrong: Believe me, I want this to be a fun experience. Often, families have spent a lot of time getting ready, expectations are high, and you want those picture perfect images. Sometimes it can be easy to get stressed out if the kids aren't cooperating. No worries. I got it. A good tip? The more stressed the parents, the more stressed the kids. So, relax. And have fun.
Additional Info: Some shots will be posed and others will be candid. The more you interact with your family, the better. Believe me, I know that being photographed can sometimes feel awkward. But the more you relax and have fun, the better your photos will be. So, HAVE FUN.
